On the eve of a special election to select the next U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, yet another poll released Monday found Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) very much in the driver’s seat.
The latest poll from Suffolk University showed the Democratic congressman claiming the support of 52 percent of Bay State voters, outpacing Republican businessman Gabriel Gomez’s 42 percent. Those findings mirror the majority of other recent surveys, deflating GOP hopes for a repeat of Scott Brown’s improbable victory in the state’s 2010 special Senate election. In fact, not one poll — even those conducted on behalf of Gomez’s campaign or conservative organizations — has shown Markey trailing in the race.
The PollTracker Average currently shows Markey in a similar position of strength.
