Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) kept it pithy and biting Thursday night when offering up his assessment of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
“I can be really brief tonight and just say, ‘Mitch McConnell sucks,'” Yarmuth said at a gathering of Kentucky Democrats.
Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, widely expected to be McConnell’s Democratic challenger in 2014, was also at the gathering. She stopped short of announcing a bid, but made reference in her own speech to what the party must do “in the coming months” in order to unseat McConnell.
Yarmuth implied that Grimes will be the party’s nominee.
“We will have a candidate and I suspect that maybe that candidate is in the room tonight,” Yarmuth said.
