House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Thursday that Democrats oppose subsidies under the Affordable Care Act or access to Medicaid for undocumented immigrants as part of immigration reform legislation.
“Undocumented people will not have subsidies in the Affordable Care Act,” she told reporters. “It is our position in the immigration bill — no access to subsidies in the Affordable Care Act. Secondly, no access to Medicaid. No cost to the taxpayer. That has always been the Democratic position.”
Pelosi criticized “misrepresentations in the press” to the contrary as “simply not true.”
