Air Force Two has been stranded in Flagstaff, Ariz., for a few days after the engine was damaged by debris, Politico reported Tuesday. Vice President Joe Biden returned safely to Washington on Sunday in a backup plane.
Biden’s office said it sustained damage when its engines “ingested some debris.”
“The damage was discovered during a routine post-flight inspection by an Air Force 2 maintenance crew,” an aide tells POLITICO. “No one on board, including the Vice President, noticed anything at the time and the plane landed safely without incident.”
