Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s influence among American conservatives has long been evident, and news of her death Monday served as another affirmation of her stateside stature. Republicans and prominent figures on the American right flocked to Twitter to pay tribute to the woman known as the “Iron Lady.”
Calling Thatcher “one of the great leaders of the 20th century,” Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) took to Twitter moments after the news broke.
