President Barack Obama spent two hours with the members of the Senate Democratic Caucus at their annual retreat in Annapolis, Md. Wednesday, per a White House official. Obama took 10 questions and then spent an hour speaking with senators at their tables before departing.

“We talked a lot about sequestration and how to get this economy moving forward to create jobs,” Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) told Roll Call after the meeting. “We know that some of the spending cuts that we have had have cost us jobs and economic growth in this nation,” Durbin continued. “We really have to keep our eye on the prize. Getting more Americans back to work [and] paying taxes is a good way to reduce the deficit.”
