President Obama said Sunday that the Boy Scouts of America should lift their current ban on gay members and scout leaders, a policy change the organization is currently considering, according to the Washington Post.
“I think that my attitude is that gays and lesbians should have access and opportunity the same way everybody else does in every institution and walk of life,” Obama said in a pre-Super Bowl interview with CBS News’ Scott Pelley.
Responding specifically to whether the Boy Scouts should lift the ban, Obama said, “Yes.”
