New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Wednesday dismissed gun control proposals that focus solely on firearms as “political.”
“You’ve got to do stuff on guns, but you also have to deal with mental health and substance abuse,” Christie said on MSNBC “Morning Joe.” “Because if you don’t, then all you’re doing is being political.”
In addition to mental health issues, Christie said addressing violent video games must be part of a comprehensive gun-control package.
