Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI), who passed away Monday from respiratory complications, will lie in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda on Thursday, two sources tell Politico:

Only about 30 people have laid in state in the Rotunda, including Presidents Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Reagan.  Others include longtime FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover and Senate Minority Leader Everett Dirksen. The last person to lie in state was President Gerald Ford upon his death in 2007.

The body of the Senate’s longest-serving member, West Virginia’s Robert Byrd, laid in repose on the Senate floor after his death in 2010.
