Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said on Monday that she placed a phone call to President Obama in hopes of a discussion on gun control in the wake of a shooting spree at a Newtown, Conn. elementary school.
“With respect to the president, I placed a call to him this morning,” Feinstein said on MSNBC. “I’m hopeful that he will return it. I would like to talk to him about it his help many moving forward with this.”
Feinstein announced over the weekend that she would be introducing legislation in the new Congress that would reinstate a ban on assault weapons.
