Bob King, president of the United Auto Workers, said the right-to-work fight will end up growing the union movement by “waking a sleeping giant,” in an interview with CNN in Lansing Tuesday.
“I think things like this are waking a sleeping giant,” King said, responding to a question about whether Michigan’s impending shift to right-to-work is a sign of the death of the labor movement. “I think that workers and working families are tired of losing. They want a fair share of the prosperity in this state and in this country. And I think that’s going to help build the union movement.”
