Bob King, president of the United Auto Workers, said that he is not worried about a decline in union membership after right-to-work legislation passes in Michigan, during an interview with CNN Tuesday.
“No, our members are very loyal in places where we have right to work,” King said. “We have some locals that have 100 percent. We’ve got many that are in the high 90s. People understand the value of the union.”
King went on to say that he is worried about the entire right-wing agenda, which includes anti-union laws: “But we’re worried about all workers in the state of michigan. We’re worried about the bills that they’re trying to pass that impact women’s reproductive rights. This is a very right wing agenda, we’ll stand up and fight for the rights of workers and women and minorities. The rights of everybody in our society.”
