House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said that he was “flabbergasted” by the debt deal proposal the White House made to Republicans this week when Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner met with leaders on the Hill, during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”
“Flabbergasted,” Boehner said of his reaction to the proposal. “I looked at him and I said, ‘You can’t be serious.’ I’ve just never seen anything like it.”
Boehner argued that Democrats’ proposal, which includes stimulus spending, now contains more spending than savings.
