On the heels of the stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs report, one industry in particular is shining brighter than most: The solar industry saw 13.2 percent employment growth to 119,016 Americans in 2012, according to an upcoming report by the nonprofit Solar Foundation, initial data of which was released Friday. That figure compares to the overall economy’s growth rate of 2.3 percent over the same period, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
