Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) was taken to the emergency room at University Medical Center In Las Vegas on Friday after a multiple-car accident on Interstate 15, reports a local ABC station:
The crash happened just after 1 p.m. on I-15 northbound near Sahara, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Multiple cars were involved in the crash, including four cars in Senator Reid’s caravan. Two other cars outside of the caravan were involved.
The extent of Reid’s injuries were not immediately clear.
Reid was taken to the hospital by members of his security detail, according to KLAS-TV.

UPDATE II: Reid was transported to the hospital for “minor rib injuries,” a Las Vegas police spokesman told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
