David Axelrod, senior adviser to the Obama campaign, said that Mitt Romney made “a little bit of progress” after his debate victory against President Obama on October 3, but said that the Obama campaign is still narrowly winning the election right now, during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.”
Axelrod said that Romney’s boost after the debate came from “picking up Republican-leaning independents who had lost heart watching that convention, watching that 47 percent tape — he got some of those people back.”
“The reality of the race is that we’re ahead,” Axelrod said. “It’s a little bit narrower than before the last debate.”
