The Virginia Senate race remains a close battle between Democratic former Gov. Tim Kaine and Republican former Sen. George Allen.
The two candidates are tied at 44 percent each, in a poll from Suffolk University. The survey of 600 likely voters was conducted Sept. 24-26, and has a 4 percent margin of error.
The same poll showed President Obama with a slim lead over Mitt Romney in the state, of 46 percent to 44 percent.
The PollTracker Average shows Kaine leading Allen, 47.3 percent to 44.1 percent.
