President Obama has opened up a sizeable lead in Nevada, 52 percent to Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s 43 percent, according to a poll from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling (PPP) and commissioned by the League of Conservation Voters, which has endorsed Obama. But the two candidates are locked at 47 percent for Obama and 46 percent for Romney in a poll from Republican pollster Glen Bolger. The PPP poll was an automated survey, which are prohibited from calling cell phones.
Obama pulls 68 percent of Latino voters in the PPP survey, compared to Romney’s 25 percent. The president also has a healthy lead with independent voters, 52 percent to Romney’s 37. The Bolger survey did not contain crosstabs, but both polls contained 14 percent Latino voters.
The President retains a 5.5 percent lead in the overall PollTracker Average of the presidential race in Nevada.
