The Minnesota delegation had some choice words for the organizers of the Republican National Convention, which enacted new rules to shut down supporters of former presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). Paul took second place in the Minnesota caucuses on their election night, but his backers were able to secure the majority of votes by winning 20 of the 24 congressional district delegates, and then picking up some more that the state’s convention.
“Minnesota, where we are very proud of our state Republican Party, which runs a fair convention with integrity,” the state delegate said at the RNC on Tuesday night as she announced their count. “We cast 33 votes for Ron Paul, one vote for Sen. Rick Santorum and six votes for Gov. Romney.”
