Seven headline speakers have signed up for the Republican National Convention in Tampa later this month, reports the Tampa Bay Times. The list of speakers includes South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The keynote speaker will be named at a later date.
However, some VP contenders are notably absent from the list, as the Times points out.
Noticeably absent from the headliner list are several VP contenders: former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.
