One of the whistleblowers who testified about Operation Fast and Furious before the House Oversight Committee last year is criticizing Sen. Chuck Grassley and Rep. Darrell Issa for attacking ATF’s new director over a video the Republicans said “could be interpreted as a threat.”
In the video, acting ATF Director B. Todd Jones told agents there would be “consequences” if they didn’t “respect the chain of command.” But ATF whistleblower Peter Forcelli told TickleTheWire.com on Thursday that “some people have cried wolf with respect to this video,” said the attack was “not fair” and that ATF leadership was “trying to do the right thing.”
Issa tried to shut down Forcelli’s testimony last June when the ATF agent was asked whether “toothless” gun laws made it more difficult to combat gun trafficking.
