Mitt Romney deflected a question about releasing his tax returns in an interview on “Fox & Friends” Monday morning by mentioning President Obama’s use of executive privilege to keep documents in the ATF’s Fast and Furious scandal and pinning the idea of a lack of transparency on Obama.

Romney also attacked Obama for directing government money to his political donors — a theme that has surfaced in recent ads and in a web video out Monday morning. “I think it’s wrong,” Romney said. “I think it stinks to high heaven.”

Romney also said his own record was “solid” and that it was time to look at the president’s record.
