General Keith Alexander, the Director of National Security Agency and the commander of U.S. Cyber Command said in a speech at a conservative think-tank Monday that America is the most vulernable country in the world to cyber attacks, the Pentagon Channel reported.
“Cyber is at the speed of light, I’m just saying that perhaps we should go a little faster,” said Alexander.
Alexander advocated the passage of legislation that would legalize sharing of cyber threat information between U.S. intelligence agencies and the private sector. One such bill, CISPA, passed the House in April after being criticized by Web freedom groups. It has yet to be introduced to the Senate, but other bills have been.
“We can do protection of civil liberties and cyber security as a nation.” Alexander added.
