Reuters reports that Kodak has brought a lawsuit against Apple accusing it of interfering with Kodak’s plans to sell a large patent portfolio. The lawsuit states that Apple claims to own 10 of the patents that resulted from the work the two companies did together in the early ’90s, including patents for certain programs that allow camera owners to preview photographs on LCD screens.
The patent sale is a significant part of Kodak’s bankruptcy restructuring. According to a statement released by Kodak, Apple sought to interfere with the sale by “us[ing] its substantial cash position to delay as long as possible the payment of royalties to Kodak.”
