According to numbers released by the NALP, those who finished law school in 2011 had the lowest employment rate of any graduating class in the last 18 years. The new graduates’ employment rate, 85.6 percent, is the lowest since 1994, when the rate was 84.7 percent.
The NALP’s report also showed that less than 66 percent of recent graduates have found jobs requiring bar membership, which is down 9 percent from 2008. Meanwhile, less than half of the graduates have found work in private practice.
