Addressing supporters in Gettysburg, Pa., Rick Santorum told supporters that he phoned Mitt Romney to congratulate him on his win in the Illinois primary. But Santorum also boasted of his own strong performance in that contest, carrying the southern and western areas of the state.
“We won the areas that conservatives and Republicans populate, and we’re very happy about that,” said Santorum — a dig at Romney’s support in the Democratic-voting Chicago metro area. “We’re very happy about the delegates we’re gonna get, too.”
