NBC News and Fox News have called the Virginia primary for Mitt Romney — a contest known more for its lack of candidates than any actual race.

Only two candidates, Romney and Ron Paul, successfully qualified for the ballot in this state, turning in 10,000 valid signatures.

Two others, Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry, did turn in signatures, but enough were disqualified to kick them off the ballot. Rick Santorum never even made it that far, and did not turn in signatures.
