In an interview with Jorge Ramos of Univision, Mitt Romney joked that he wished he could call himself Mexican-American:
“I would love to be able to convince people of that,” Romney joked, “particularly in a primary in Florida.” But, he added, “I don’t think people would think I was being honest with them if I said I was Mexican-American.”
This exchange came after Ramos asked about the fact that Romney’s father, George Romney was born in Mexico, and whether that made Romney Mexican-American.
