The latest Rasmussen survey of likely Republican primary voters in South Carolina shows Mitt Romney with a significant lead in the state, in concert with the most recent numbers from other pollsters.
Romney claims 35 percent support in the poll, while Newt Gingrich places a distant second with 21 percent. Rick Santorum and Ron Paul are locked in a tie for third with both earning 16 percent.
The Rasmussen poll largely mirrors the TPM Poll Average, which has shown Romney steadily separating himself from the rest of the field in South Carolina since last week.
