Rick Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan e-mailed reporters a blog post on Tuesday by Red State’s Erick Erickson urging Republican voters to give the Texas governor a second look. Nothing unusual there, but the blog post also repeatedly calls for Sullivan’s firing — by name — in order to jumpstart Perry’s campaign.
Writes Erickson: “should Perry make it out of Iowa he must absolutely and decisively remove Ray Sullivan from being in charge of communications.” He later adds: “his internal campaign situation has badly served him and he never should have left Ray Sullivan in his position.”
Whatever Erickson thinks of him, that Sullivan apparently has a pretty thick skin.
