South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is expected to announce her endorsement of Mitt Romney for president today. Apparently she became convinced that Mitt, and not Newt, is the right man for the job because Romney explicitly reassured her that his no-good-except-for-state-only approach to health care would be given a waiver in South Carolina, CNN reports.
“I have talked to him about the health care situation,” she told CNN. “He is very aware that that is not something I want in South Carolina.”
According to CNN:
Haley said Romney assured her that he will grant a waiver to South Carolina to opt out of President Barack Obama’s health care law, and said he will push to repeal the law if elected.
