Newt Gingrich continued apologizing for attacking Mitt Romney this week after publicly promising to stay positive in the face of attacks.
On the tussle over Bain Capital, where Gingrich picked up a Democratic talking point and attacked Romney for laying off workers, Gingrich said in the spin room after Thursday’s much kinder debate that Romney “got under my skin” and he “respects” Romney as a manager.
“Mitt won that round,” Gingrich said.
