Newt Gingrich blamed the Occupy Wall Street protests on the media, saying that they inaccurately educated the public about how the capitalist economy works:
Maria Bartiromo asked what the media had done inaccurately in covering the economy.
“I love humor disguised as a question,” Gingrich answered, mocking Bartiromo. “That’s terrific.”
He then posed a rhetorical question to the protesters: “I have yet to hear a single reporter ask: Who’s going to pay for the park you’re occupying if there aren’t businesses to support it?”
