In an Iowa radio show appearance on Wednesday morning, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) delivered a few head turning quotes.
She first referred to the Great Society welfare programs of the 1960’s—which include Medicare and Medicaid—a “multi-trillion dollar experiment and failure.”
Bachmann then proceeded to comment on the ongoing financial crisis in Greece, noting that bailing them out is “just like if you have a child who’s a 16-year-old who’s overspending their money and they crack up the car and they end having to go to jail. The worst thing you could do as a parent is go and bail that child out of their own irresponsible behavior.”
Finally, the candidate called the birthplace of democracy a “tantrum-throwing nation” before warning that the issues facing Greece are a “trailer” while those facing the US are the “movie” if we as a nation fail to correct our national debt and deficit spending.
