Herman Cain is quickly dealing with the latest round of accusations of alleged sexual impropriety — this time, by letting the national media know about it before it hits big.

Cain appeared Monday afternoon on CNN, saying that a woman will soon make a public allegation against him. The news story in question is from the local Fox station in Atlanta, which is teasing an upcoming report that a woman will claim a 13-year affair with the candidate, which he denies.

“This particular individual, which will be named in the story as we understand it — my attorney has talked with a reporter who’s gonna come out with the story — this individual is gonna accuse me of an affair for an extended period of time,” Cain told Wolf Blitzer. “I don’t want to specify, because I don’t know what’s in the story.

“Secondly, it is someone that I know, who is an acquaintance, that I thought was a friend. That much I do know. but other than that, Wolf, when we dealt with the previous allegations, and I went forward, went in front of the public and said they are false, and they’re baseless. We were reacting to what we knew. At this point, I am just simply saying these are gonna come out, and until we know what they are, then my attorney doesn’t know what to respond to. These are all the details that I have.

“Now given that, I know that the court of public opinion is gonna formulate its own opinion. I can’t control people who are gonna make a decisions based upon accusations.”

Cain told Blitzer that his attorney will respond to specifics, as they emerge, while Cain tries to run his campaign. “But I just want to give you a heads-up, and your audience a head-up: Here we go again.”

Cain further denied any truth to the upcoming story, and bemoaned the impact that false allegations against him could have on his family.
