YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Police are investigating messages extoling the Islamic State group that were painted on a large rock at Youngstown State University in northeastern Ohio.
University spokeswoman Shannon Tirone (TEYE’-rohn) says staff discovered the messages when they arrived on campus Monday morning. The messages on the rock outside of the Kilcawley Center read: “We are coming,” ”France Deserves Destruction” and “YSU supports ISIS.”
Tirone says employees painted over the messages with white paint and some students plan to re-paint the rock with an American flag.
Tirone says the university doesn’t believe the messages indicate any credible threat. But she says campus police have reached out to other law enforcement authorities and are searching for the person or persons responsible. The university also is reviewing campus security footage.

Totally OT, but that picture strikes me as an old one. The trees are awfully green for this time of year in Ohio.
That’s some piss poor trolling.
Definitely a summer in Ohio picture. Phony article is a possibility. AP timeline?
I find it fascinating that there was news report just yesterday showing racist comments being carved into the snow on the same campus … was AP fooled into reporting a bogus “attack.” The comments painted on the rock were rather Western. I would expect more along the lines of “Allah Whatever the second word is”
Seems interestingly timed. Agreed w/photo seeming out of date, as well as a concern that this is someone trying to make a stink about Islam and/or suggest that it’s related to refugees or terrorism, rather than someone actually supporting Islamic State.
