HRABOVE, Ukraine (AP) — A separatist leader in eastern Ukraine says rebels have recovered the black boxes for the downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17.
Alexander Borodai said Sunday that the devices would be handed over to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
He also said the bodies recovered from the crash site in eastern Ukraine would remain in refrigerated containers at a train station in the town of Torez until the arrival of an international aviation delegation.
The plane was shot down Thursday over disputed territory, killing 298 passengers and crew.

We’ll see. The rebels’ actions suggest otherwise.
Not to mention compromised data.
But it is also very possible–indeed likely–that the rebels are also frantically trying to figure out, and shifting their assessment of, what to do; this would account for seemingly contradictory responses or impulses hour-by-hour.
And I’ve got 100 rubles that Comrade “Strelkov” or WTF he’s calling himself today is on his way out of the country. He’ll disappear and Putin will claim they could not locate him. The good Comrade, however, had better be watching out for Russian “aides” with icepicks.
Or polonium in his tea. Or perhaps the Netherlands and Malaysia will consult with Mossad and then go after all those responsible.
Headline doesn’t match with the story. Former said the boxes were found and turned over.
Story says they were found and “would be handed over.” Big difference, especially amid stories that the rebels appear to be hauling the bodies away to parts unknown over the protests of investigators.
