Avlon: Meacham, Mulroney Eulogies Were An ‘Implicit Dis’ Of Trump

John Avlon on CNN Dec. 6, 2018

While CNN’s John Avlon thinks that the words of President George W. Bush’s eulogy for his father were exclusively for memorializing his dad and not about making veiled digs at the current president, he believes the other eulogies were not quite as innocent.

“The clips that we just played from (Jon) Meacham and (Brian) Mulroney were not an accident, that was an implicit dis to the current president,” he said. “And it’s because of the contrast between the two men and you make choices when you write speeches.”

Shorter Trump lackey: It’s all about HIM!

  3. Bush’s granddaughters read this verse from Isaiah (60:18) at his funeral, with Pouty Trump in attendance. Am I the only one who thinks that choosing a passage that featured the words “borders” and “walls” was more than a coincidence?

“No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.”

If you praise any president’s good qualities, it will be an automatic reminder of trump’s deficits. Sad.
