ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A Florida family judge will hear Rep. Alan Grayson’s charge that his wife committed bigamy and decide whether their 24-year marriage should be annulled.

A trial on whether the marriage was legitimate opens Monday in an Orlando courtroom.

Grayson says his wife, Lolita, was still married to another man when she and the multimillionaire congressman married in 1990 in Virginia. But Lolita Grayson says she divorced Robert Carson in 1981 in Guam.

Besides the bigamy allegation, the lead-up to Monday’s trial includes accusations by Lolita Grayson that her estranged husband pushed her and that he has failed to maintain their Orlando house and support their children. There was also a delay caused by Lolita Grayson’s leaky breast implant, and she has had a revolving door of attorneys.
