While the Republican convention is still fraught with discontentment over presumptive nominee Donald Trump, there are convention-goers who have come all the way to Cleveland to show their support for the real estate mogul. Here are two of those people on why Trump is their candidate.
“He tells it like it is no matter how painful it is and that is why I support him. I would vote for him to the end of the earth. I supported him since the get go. I just see something in him,” said Christine Portnoff, who is from Illinois and is merely a supporter, not a delegate. “Our country is divided. It’s not even divided. It’s shredded at this point. There are so many special interest groups it’s not even funny and they’re importing them as if we don’t have enough. … What do you think Muslims are?”
Dale Berry, also of Illinois, said that he is supporting Trump because he speaks his mind.
“On a general level, one of the biggest problems we have is this PC culture where people are afraid to say things,” Berry said. “I as a person make it a point of saying or doing something politically incorrect every day just because if we don’t use the First Amendment, it will atrophy.”
Trump Voters: In Their Own Words
Obviously written in crayon…
Sadly, they seem to feel the same way about the Second.
I would love to confront these people and “tell it like it is” in very un-PC terms, but that would be rude and counterproductive because it would probably make them cry and just make them retreat further back into their own derp. And then someone somewhere would use it as an anecdote to try to prove that it’s the ‘liberals’ that are so divisive and to blame for all the hatred in the world…
Dude now believes his always being an asshole is saving us from first amendment atrophy.
Godspeed, my good man. Where would we be without your strength and patriotism.
Well, in case you didn’t yet know: Trump supporters are every bit the brain-dead zombies you thought they were. Brainwashed by Fox News; conditioned to fear those “scary others” (usually with dark skin) and convinced that “political correctness” = “not being a loud bigot.”
Yup, Trump and the GOP have locked up the back-of-the-classroom vote all the way. I suppose the dumbest among us are also human beings… lollol
