Republican presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee joined Donald Trump on stage at his veterans event on Thursday as the rest of the GOP field battled it out on Fox News’ primetime debate stage.

Santorum and Cruz had participated in Fox News’ undercard debate earlier in the night. Trump had refused to participate in the primetime debate.

Santorum and Huckabee both climbed on stage as the crowd chanted “U.S.A!”

Santorum then noted that he was going to stand to the side of the lectern so that he wouldn’t be standing behind Trump’s name.

“I’m supporting another candidate for President,” he said. “That doesn’t mean we can’t work together over here when it comes to supporting our veterans.”

Huckabee also cracked some jokes as he made his way to the stage.

“You’re gonna get the photo anyway, I might as well just stand here and be done with it,” Huckabee said as he got behind the mic.

“Two amazing people, really great people,” Trump said as they exited the stage.
