Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sunday that maybe the Black Lives Matter protestor who was violently removed from his campaign event a day before “should’ve been roughed up.”

A video posted online showed people kicking and pushing a man who was later identified as a Black Lives Matter protestor at Trump’s rally Saturday in Alabama.

Trump called the protestor’s actions “disgusting” during a phone interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

“The man that you say was, I don’t know, you said roughed up — he was so obnoxious and screaming,” Trump said. “I had 10,000 screaming people in the room yesterday. 10,000 people and this guy started screaming by himself, and I don’t know. Roughed up? Maybe he should have been roughed up. Because it was absolutely disgusting what he was doing.”

Trump also mentioned when a campaign rally for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was interrupted by a Black Lives Matter protestor. The protestors stormed the stage and Sanders was forced out of the event.

“This was not handled the way Bernie Sanders handled his problem, I will tell you,” Trump said.
