Former Mexican president Vicente Fox said Thursday there was no way his country was going to pay for the “fucking wall” that GOP candidate Donald Trump wants to build along the US-Mexico border. But as Trump made clear during Thursday’s Republican presidential debate, that only makes him want to make the wall “ten feet taller.”
“This is a wall that’s a heck of a lot higher than the ceiling you’re looking at,” Trump said, pointing around the University of Houston auditorium. “This is a wall that’s going to work. Mexico will pay for it, because they’re not doing us any favors.”
CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer asked about the former president’s statement, pushing Trump on how exactly he would pay for the wall if both Fox and current president Enrique Peña Nieto refuse to cover the costs.
Trump, who has been criticized for his own foul language at campaign rallies, began his response by expressing outrage at Fox’s choice of words.
“If I would have used even half of that word, it would have been national scandal,” the GOP candidate said. “This guy used a filthy, disgusting word on television and he should be ashamed of himself and he should apologize, okay?”
Trump then said he’d be willing to engage in a trade war if Mexican leaders refuse to fund the wall because the United States is losing “$58 billion a year” in trade deficits.
Now it’s a million and ten feet!
No! Elebenty billions feet.
It will be eleventh billion feet high.
