Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump defended calling Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) a “pussy” at his rally on Monday night because he was repeating one of his supporters and “we were all just having fun.”
NBC News anchor Andrea Mitchell awkwardly talked around the word, asking Trump on Tuesday, “What was going through your mind when that woman shouted a word out and you went with it?”
“We were all just having fun. It was a great moment,” Trump said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
He said the comment earned him a massive standing ovation, “close to 5,000 people.”
“I got a standing ovation, the place went wild. Somebody said mixed cheers. Let me tell you the place went wild,” Trump said.
He added that he was “doing everybody a favor” by repeating the woman who called Cruz a “pussy” because “people couldn’t hear it.”
During an interview on Fox News’ “America’s Election Headquarters” on Tuesday, Trump said he would “never say a word like that.”
“It wasn’t overly bad. And I have to tell you that woman shouted it out,” Trump said. “Okay, it was like a retweet.”
Watch the exchange:
He is SUCH a class act…‘we were all having FUN!’ Definitely, Presidential material.
And people shouldn’t get so upset when I criticize the fucking nigger in the White House. The crowd went wild when I did that and it was all in fun. I did everybody a favor by not being politically correct.
Same thing with the bitch and the kike that are running now.
Later we were going to do some waterboarding. You can learn so much about a person.
Oh, dear. Well, we’ve reached yet another new low wherein “nothing could possibly be lower than this.”
And that’s why Trump is so popular. He makes it okay for people to express their hate openly.
