The Donald Trump campaign announced on Thursday that the campaign and its joint fundraising efforts with the Republican National Committee raised a total of $90 million in August and began September with a total of $97 million cash-on-hand.
As has been typical for the Trump campaign, the statement on fundraising totals did not reveal how much the Trump campaign alone raised in the month of August, nor did it reveal the campaign’s cash-on-hand. Official fundraising reports for the month of August filed to the FEC will not be available until later in September.
The Hillary Clinton campaign announced earlier this month that Clinton raised $143 million for her campaign and joint fundraising efforts in conjunction with the Democratic Party. The campaign said that $62 million of the total was for the campaign. The Clinton campaign announced that the campaign began September with $68 million cash-on-hand and that total efforts began the month $152 million cash-on-hand.
In the statement on fundraising, the Trump campaign said that it raised $5 million on the day of Trump’s visit to Mexico and immigration speech in Phoenix. The campaign also mentioned that Trump again donated personally to his campaign, bringing his total contributions for the cycle to $60 million.
Trump upped his fundraising game slightly from the month of July, when he raised $80 million for his campaign and joint fundraising committees.
