Toronto Mayor Rob Ford clashed with reporters who gathered outside his home Thursday morning to question him about a police investigation sparked by allegations about his drug activity.

“Can you get off my driveway please?” Ford asked reporters, his voice rising as he repeated the plea.

“What don’t you understand?” the mayor said as he swatted one man’s camera away. “Get off my property partner.”

“Are you the focus of the police drug investigation related to Sandro Lisi, Mr. Mayor!” one reporter shouted as Ford got into his car.

The mayor ignored questions, repeating “thank you, thank you” before closing the door to his car and pulling out of the driveway.

Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair announced later Thursday that his department recovered the alleged video showing Ford smoking from a crack pipe that started a firestorm earlier this year. Blair said the video itself does not provide grounds to press charges against the mayor.
