After outgoing Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) threatened to block Trump administration judicial nominees until he gets a vote on a bill to protect special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin joked that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “is going to squash Jeff Flake like a bug, as he always does.”

What an apt metaphor. (Okay, an apt simile. I stand corrected, except that I am actually sitting, if we want to be pedantic.)
Flake will put up about as much fight as the Italian army.
Eh, probably, but it’s Republican-on-Republican violence. I’m not going to stand in the way.
How will McConnell squash Flake? Did he say?
I’d pay to see that. And as for Flake standing up to McConnell, I’ll believe that when I see it, which I won’t. Flake is a flake.
