Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) on Tuesday tweeted that it was a “twisted world” when “transgender and transracial are ‘in’” and “trans fats are out!”

Huelskamp’s tweet came after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Tuesday that it would require food companies to eliminate the use of artificial trans fats.
His tweet also referenced former Olympian and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner, who came out publicly on the June cover of Vanity Fair as a transgender woman, and Rachel Dolezal, the former president of the Spokane, Washington chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) who last week was accused by her parents of pretending to be black but really being white.

Sure, it’s truly twisted to ban something that sickens and/or kills thousands of Americans every year, but accepting folks whose existence may merely make some people uncomfortable is truly offensive.
