ABC News reported Wednesday that House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) is expected to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump. Senior aides from the Trump campaign told ABC News of the upcoming endorsement, however, Ryan’s own team disputed the report and it is unclear when the endorsement would actually come.

“There’s no update and we’ve not told the Trump campaign to expect an endorsement,” one Ryan staffer told ABC News.

Ryan has been slow to come around to Trump. He shocked many when he said that he would not initially endorse the real estate magnate after Trump emerged the last candidate standing in the GOP primary. Earlier this month, the two men met at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington to discuss policy and try to iron out their differences. While Ryan said that the meeting went well, he did not immediately jump to endorse the presumptive Republican nominee.
