Perry says Tuesday, May 6, 2014, that he never tried making a deal with an Austin district attorney about vetoed state funding that is now the focus of a grand jury investigation. Perry said Tuesday that he would let the case “play out its course” as a grand jury in Austin considers whether the possible 2016 Republican presidential candidate abused his power last summer. Texas Gov. Rick Perry is poised to appear Tuesday at 5 p.m. local time at the Travis County Court for fingerprinting and to have his mug shot taken, amid an indictment on two felony counts.

The Republican governor, who emphatically insists he’s innocent and has blasted the charges against him, will deliver remarks upon entering and exiting the building, his office said in an advisory.
